Star Wars Episode 1 (The Phantom Menace) :

The Phantom Menace is an 1999 American epic space-opera movie which was written and directed by George Lucas. Produced by Lucasfilm, and distributed by 20th Century Fox Company. It is the first installment in the Star Wars sequel trilogy as well as episode 1 .

Its visual effects included extensive use of computer-generated imagery which stand for (CGI). Many of its  main characters and settings were completely computerized.The Phantom Menace was released in theaters on the month of May 19, 1999. Almost 16 years later after the premiere of the previous Star Wars film, Return of the Jedi.

The film’s premiere was extensively covered by media and HD graphics was greatly anticipated because of the large cultural following the Star Wars saga company had cultivated. It received mixed reviews through fans critics praised the visuals, action sequences, John Williams’ musical score.

And some of the amazing  performances, but criticized the screenplay, characterization. And the amazing respective performances of Ahmed Best and Lloyd as Jar Jar Binks and Anakin. It grossed more than $924.3 million across the border and worldwide.

Releasing Of Star Wars Episode 1 :

The Phantom Menace was the first Star Wars film release in 16 years. As a result, there was almost unprecedented interest reveal among both fans and the wider public. The film received enormous media-created hype, which was made by Lucasfilm’s $20 million advertising campaign.

With the distinctive artwork of Star Wars sequel series artist Drew Struzan gracing the movie poster and other advertising. This advertising seem modest and almost unnecessary because of the unprecedented interest amongst both fans and the wider audience.

Cast and Development of The Phantom Menace :

Throughout the 1980s, George Lucas remarked that he had no desire to return to Star Wars .And he had unofficially canceled his sequel trilogy of Star Wars by the time of Return of the Jedi. Because George Lucas had developed most of the backstory and the idea of prequels continued to fascinate him.

Casting Of Star Wars Episode 1 In the early stage of 1990s, Star Wars saw resurgence in popularity in the wake of Dark Horse’s comic .George Lucas began writing the new Star Wars trilogy on the starts of November, 1994. The screenplay of Star Wars was adapted from George Lucas’ 15-page outline that was written in 1976. He designed to help him keep track of the main backstories and events that occurred before the original sequel trilogy.

Anakin was written his age as a twelve-year-old, but Lucas reduced his age to nine.Because he was felt that the lower age would better fit the plot affected by his mother’s separation him. Eventually, Anakin’s younger age was  led Lucas to rewrite his participation in the movie’s major scenes.
